About Training

Louise Holyoake

Louise is a registered counsellor and hypnotherapist with more than six years post qualifying experience. Louise holds additional professional qualifications in bereavement and grief therapy.

Louise’s first counselling post was with Cruse Bereavement, undertaking their specialised certificated course for the volunteers. Louise saw clients as a volunteer bereavement counsellor, for a period of four years, working with death by suicide, traumatic and unexpected loss and death of a child.

Louise also undertook further training with Cruse to supervise the other volunteer’s work and has experience of group supervision and coaching.  Louise also held a position on the management and client services committee for the branch, assisting with the fundraising and running of the branch and being the voice of the volunteers.

Grief is a natural reaction to loss, but it can be devastating in its intensity.

Louise has been a volunteer bereavement counsellor for Kemp Hospice since 2013.  Seeing clients with both bereavement and pre-bereavement (where the loss hasn’t yet taken place – due terminal illness). Louise has been seeing clients privately on a one to one basis since qualifying, seeing clients with a range of issues, such as flight anxiety and inner child therapy.

Louise’s private practice is in Kidderminster, a short stroll away from the railway station.  Louise offers integrative counselling and hypnotherapy on a one to one basis in a private and comfortable room within her home.

A healthy grieving process is perfectly normal and should not be anything to be ashamed of. As individuals, we experience grief and loss differently.
